Short entry today. I tried drinking water from the recycler. It’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but I’m going to have to find some powdered lemonade or something for this. It’s only revolting because I know what it is. To prepare for the future, the girl and I decided we just won’t tell the child where it comes from.
Today was just preparations. More food, books, tools, medical supplies, testing.
We keep watching the sky. It feels like Yama will be here any minute. We think we’re safe for now, though. No one else has bothered. We’re prepared, but there’s still more to do. We started thinking about life after the end of the world. Life after the bunker, right? What sort of devastation comes from an asteroid hit? Will we come outside and see brand new grass growing where it used to before the end? Will all the buildings be flattened, or will some still be standing? If they are, will be will be able to find a can of chili on the grocery store shelf if we miss it today?
We realized how little we actually know about Yama. I guess it doesn’t actually matter, though.
